Dr. Joseph W. Kovach, President and Director at Joseph W. Kovach and Associates, Ltd., Educational Research Exchange, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Educational Psychology.

Dr. Kovach has led his firm since its founding in 1969, and has also been the director of the Educational Research Exchange since 1988, as well as a professor and chairman of the department of psychology of the Calumet College of St. Joseph since 1984. He also holds the chairman positions for the departments of natural and social sciences as well as general education. Dr. Kovach has been a leader in the psychological community, and served as chief psychologist for nonmilitary support services for military and families for the U.S. Army in 2001, as well as a co-organizer for the Oxford Round Table: Women’s Rights in 2004. His work centers around fostering creativity and memory.

A recipient of the Marquis Who’s Who Humanitarian Award and the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award, Dr. Kovach has appeared in Who’s Who Among Human Service Professionals, Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Education, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, Who’s Who in the Midwest, and Who’s Who in the World. He studied speech at St. Joseph’s College, and earned a MA in psychology from Roosevelt University in 1974, followed by a PhD from the Illinois Institute of Technology in 1981 and a second PhD in clinical psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. In addition to teaching with Calumet College of St. Joseph, he is a certified marriage and family therapist, licensed school psychologist in Illinois, Indiana, and Missouri, as well as a diplomate of the American College of Forensic Examiners Institute.

Of the many roles Dr. Kovach has assumed over a fruitful career, some notable ones include research with the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University, the position of co-organizer of the USA Memory Championship, and senior consultant with the Calumet City Youth Service Bureau. He has been a columnist with Business in Review/The Times, as well as Executive Excellence and Personal Excellence, the Northwest Indiana Business Journal, and Talking to the Boss. Dr. Kovach is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Midwest Psychological Association, the Illinois School of Psychologists Association, and the International Conference of Police Chaplains. In February 2018, Dr. Kovach was invited to speak at the American Association of Behavioral Sciences and Social Services on Religious Cults at the Behavioral Science Conference.
